Living in South Florida means there are plenty of opportunities for outdoor fun. I recently received a new swimsuit, rash guard, and bucket hat from Swim Outlet for my little man to play in and we have used it quite a bit since it arrived. I decided to purchase the Jump N’ Splash Boys’ Shark Swimsuit & Rashguard set which also includes free armbands (water wings) and also purchased the iPlay Boys’ Shipwreck Reversible Bucket Hat to help protect my little guy while he’s out in the sun. The swimsuit has 40+ UV protection and the bucket hat has 50+ UV protection. This is very important in South Florida because the sun can be brutal, especially in the middle of summer.
The swimsuit looked great on my little guy, the sizing was right on, and it did its job: no burns! My only issue was that when it arrived there was a bunch of loose strings and strings that needed to be cut off. This shouldn’t be the case, but the quality of the suit is nice, and considering it was an entire set for $22.40, the price was right too!
I ordered this August 4th with 2-day shipping. It shipped out the same day and was in my possession Thursday, so Friday I decided to break out the backyard water fun!
We decided this past weekend to head on down to Crandon Park Beach for the morning and we took his new little swim outfit. Unfortunately, my son has a thing about hats. He hates them. He won’t let me put them on him. I always buy him hats in case one day he changes his mind, but it never works out that way. At least I try. So after my attempt of putting the hat on his head, we explored the beach a little and made some sandcastles (I made sandcastles; he destroyed them). The water was magnificently calm and would have been perfect for swimming in, but as you can see from the pictures, it was full of seaweed. I’m not a big fan of swimming in seaweed, but it’s perfect for exploring.
We walked around a bit in it, and he quickly learned that the seaweed was smooshy and he could fall if he walks in it, so he learned to walk a little more carefully in it. He chased some seagulls and took in the serene atmosphere.
In all, it was a good day. There were a lot of mosquitos by the picnic area, as is typical during this time of the year. Right next to this beach is a nice nature preserve that you can hike through, which we will need to do another time, but because of the preserve, there are a lot of mosquitos in the area, and since there was no wind that day, it made it very easy for them to have us for lunch. Even though we had spray, we still got bit.
I am very happy with the swimsuit I purchased for Silly Baby and will definitely be purchasing more from Swim Outlet. He had fun in his new suit, he didn’t complain at all about any part of it (except the hat, but that’s not the hats fault).
Mom is due for a new swimsuit herself and with their Back to School sales going on right now, on top of their low prices, this may be a possibility in the near future!
